Electronic Records and Signature Disclosure
Before you sign or approve an agreement on Pactlo, we ask you to agree to do business electronically. This page explains what that means and what your rights are, as required by the U.S. Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (ESIGN).
What you are agreeing to
By selecting “I agree” and continuing, you consent to receive, review and sign, electronically, the agreement that was sent to you through Pactlo and the related notices, disclosures, receipts and copies (together, the “records”), instead of on paper. You agree that your electronic signature or approval has the same effect as a handwritten signature.
Your consent applies to the agreement you are about to review and to the records related to it. It does not cover other agreements unless you consent again.
The person or business that sent you the agreement (the “Sender”) is responsible for its content. Pactlo provides the technology and keeps a tamper-evident record of the signing.
Paper copies
You have the right to receive the records on paper. To request a paper copy, contact the Sender directly using the contact details in the agreement or the message you received. The Sender may charge a reasonable fee for paper copies; if so, the Sender will tell you before sending them. You can also download and print a copy of your signed agreement yourself at no charge.
Withdrawing your consent
You can withdraw your consent at any time before you finish signing by choosing not to continue, or by selecting “Decline” on the signing page. After you have signed, you can withdraw consent for future records by contacting the Sender. Withdrawing consent does not affect the validity of records you already signed electronically. If you withdraw consent, the Sender may need to use paper or another method to continue, which may slow things down.
Keeping your contact information up to date
We send records and notices to the email address or mobile number the Sender provided for you. If that information changes, tell the Sender. You can also contact us at support@pactlo.com.
What you need
To access and keep the records, you need:
- a computer, tablet or smartphone with an internet connection;
- a current version of Safari, Chrome, Firefox or Edge, with JavaScript and cookies enabled;
- access to the email account or mobile phone the agreement was sent to;
- software that can open PDF files, which is built into most devices; and
- the ability to download, save or print the PDF if you want to keep your own copy.
If these requirements change in a way that could prevent you from accessing or keeping the records, we will tell you, and you can withdraw your consent without any fee.
Confirming you can access the records
By selecting “I agree”, you confirm that you can open and read this disclosure and the agreement on your device, that you can save or print them, and that you consent to use electronic records and signatures as described above.
